The list of items is long."
  • Each, every, either, neither, everyone, somebody
  • "The number of" के साथ एकवचन क्रिया; "a number of" के साथ बहुवचन क्रिया।

  • "along with", "as well as", "together with" जैसे शब्द कर्ता नहीं बदलते: "The teacher, along with her students, is coming."
  • "One of the + बहुवचन संज्ञा + who" के बाद संबंधवाचक उपवाक्य में बहुवचन क्रिया आती है: "one of the players who have…"।

  • "The list of items are long" → "is long" (कर्ता = list)।
  • "Neither the teacher nor the students was present" → "were present" (पास वाला कर्ता = students)।
  • "A number of students are absent" सही है; "The number of students is small" भी सही है।

  • सामान्य भूल: "along with" को "and" मानना।

  • Or/nor →
  • The number → एकवचन; a number → बहुवचन।
