सार

रक्त संबंध के प्रश्न पीढ़ी और लिंग चिह्नित करके वंश-वृक्ष बनाने से सबसे तेज़ हल होते हैं।

मुख्य बिंदु

एक ही पीढ़ी: भाई, बहन, चचेरे/ममेरे भाई-बहन; एक ऊपर: पिता, माता, चाचा/मामा, चाची/मौसी; एक नीचे: पुत्र, पुत्री, भतीजा/भांजा, भतीजी/भांजी।
पिता का भाई = चाचा, माता का भाई = मामा; पिता की बहन = बुआ, माता की बहन = मौसी।
भाई का पुत्र = भतीजा, बहन का पुत्र = भांजा; पुत्री = भतीजी/भांजी।
पति/पत्नी के माता-पिता सास-ससुर हैं; भाई-बहन के जीवनसाथी देवर/जेठ/भाभी/जीजा आदि हैं।
लिंग अक्सर अज्ञात होता है — जब तक बताया न जाए, मानें नहीं।

व्याख्या

"मेरे दादा का इकलौता पुत्र" वक्ता का पिता है (यदि वक्ता के माता-पिता में वही पुत्र है)।
पीढ़ियों को स्तरों में लिखें ताकि दादा जैसे संबंध दो स्तर ऊपर दिखें।
जाँचें कि संबंध A से B का पूछा गया है या B से A का।
लिंग न दिया हो तो उत्तर "निर्धारित नहीं किया जा सकता" हो सकता है।

चरण-दर-चरण

हर कथन से वृक्ष बनाएँ।
दोनों व्यक्तियों को खोजें।
पूछी गई दिशा में संबंध बताएँ।

उदाहरण

एक पुरुष की ओर इशारा करते हुए रीता कहती है, "यह मेरी माँ के इकलौते भाई का पुत्र है।" वह पुरुष रीता का ममेरा भाई है।
A, B की बहन है; C, B की माँ है; D, C के पिता हैं → A, D की नातिन है।
X, Y का भाई है; Y, Z की पुत्री है → X, Z का पुत्र है।

ग़लतियों से बचें और उन्नत बिंदु

सामान्य भूल: बिना बताए लिंग मान लेना।
सामान्य भूल: संबंध की दिशा उलट देना।
सामान्य भूल: वृक्ष में एक पीढ़ी छोड़ देना।

त्वरित पुनरावृत्ति

पीढ़ियाँ बनाएँ।
लिंग तभी लिखें जब दिया हो।
"A, B का __ है" ध्यान से पढ़ें।
