BOOK-GUIDED ORIGINAL SSC MATHS PRACTICE — Solid Mensuration
FOUNDATION
Cuboid volume = length × width × height.
METHOD
Identify the quantities given, choose the exact relationship, calculate in the same unit, then check the answer against the question.
WORKED EXAMPLE 1
A cuboid measures 18 cm × 11 cm × 12 cm. Find its volume (cm³).
Volume = length×breadth×height = 18×11×12=2376 cm³.
WORKED EXAMPLE 2
A cuboid measures 16 cm × 8 cm × 7 cm. Find its volume (cm³).
Volume = length×breadth×height = 16×8×7=896 cm³.
IMPORTANT EXCEPTION / COMMON TRAP
Volume uses cubic units, not square units.
QUICK REVISION
Cuboid volume = length × width × height.
