भारत का आपदा प्रबंधन ढाँचा आपदा प्रबंधन अधिनियम, 2005 के अंतर्गत राहत से आगे बढ़कर शमन, तैयारी, प्रतिक्रिया और पुनर्प्राप्ति के समग्र चक्र तक पहुँचा।

मुख्य बिंदु

• आपदा प्रबंधन अधिनियम, 2005 ने NDMA (अध्यक्ष प्रधानमंत्री), राज्य और ज़िला प्राधिकरण बनाए।
• राष्ट्रीय आपदा मोचन बल (NDRF) विशेषीकृत प्रतिक्रिया बल है।
• आपदा प्रबंधन पर राष्ट्रीय नीति 2009 में और पहली राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन योजना 2016 में अपनाई गई।
• सेंडाई फ़्रेमवर्क (2015–2030) अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर आपदा जोखिम न्यूनीकरण का मार्गदर्शन करता है।
• प्रतिक्रिया कोषों (SDRF, NDRF) के साथ 15वें वित्त आयोग द्वारा अनुशंसित शमन कोष भी हैं।
• ज़िला योजनाएँ स्थानीय प्रशासन को पहला प्रत्युत्तरदाता बनाती हैं।
