भारत जलवायु परिवर्तन के प्रति अत्यधिक संवेदनशील है; वह स्वच्छ ऊर्जा और बाज़ारों से शमन, तथा जलवायु-सहनशील कृषि, शहरों और तटों से अनुकूलन करता है।

मुख्य बिंदु

• जलवायु परिवर्तन पर राष्ट्रीय कार्य योजना (2008) में आठ मिशन हैं; राज्यों की अपनी राज्य कार्य योजनाएँ हैं।
• अहमदाबाद ने 2013 में भारत की पहली लू कार्य योजना (Heat Action Plan) शुरू की।
• NICRA (2011) जलवायु-सहनशील कृषि को बढ़ावा देता है।
• कार्बन क्रेडिट व्यापार योजना (2023) ऊर्जा संरक्षण (संशोधन) अधिनियम, 2022 के अंतर्गत चलती है।
• हरित क्रेडिट कार्यक्रम (2023) स्वैच्छिक पर्यावरणीय कार्यों को पुरस्कृत करता है।
• अनुकूलन वित्त आवश्यकता से बहुत कम है।
